several mining bees came into the house (by accident) -- not buzzy or at all aggressive
and easy to return outside via a lolly stick with some honey on the end

Finally, if anyone needs to trim stuff in the garden, I  recommend this :
http://fpandg.com/brands/darlac/darlac-long-handle-sickle-dp756.html
It is light -- aluminium shaft -- but robust and very sharp, so little effort required.
There's a shorter handled version, but the harder to find long one (as above) is particularly good.

Great photos, as always offworld!  >thumbsup<

I live in a very urban area, and have only a small concrete curtain at the front of the house, but use containers to grow pollinator-friendly plants. Things like nasturtiums and french marigolds are cheap and cheerful and easy to grow from seed, and the bees seem to love them.

When I'm better at being outside, I'll try to get some photos of the bees in action (although the photos won't be as good as yours, offworld!) One day last summer, I counted 10 dfferent bee varieties visiting the flower containers outside.

Lovely photos. I am impressed that you have so many wild friends. Our garden is mostly bereft of wildlife because of the dogs and cats. A few weeks ago a robin did visit as I was watering the garden, it stayed a while and the experience was magical.

I did plant some nasturtium seeds this year  and I am hoping to get at least a few plants making it to the flowering stage.
