Hello,

So I understand that I can introduce myself here and also point people in the direction of where they can find out more?

My name is Joe.  My brother Richard has complex needs and is a big part of my life.  I write on general disability issues (and a couple of other topics) at www.joereddington.com, and I'm starting to bring more and more sibling issues in.

In April I put together a list of the top 60 disability blogs, ordered by the amount of traffic they get.  So if you are interested in disability blogs you can look at the list here: http://joereddington.com/2907/2014/04/07/top-60-disability-blogs-by-traffic-ranking-%E2%80%93-april-2014/.

It's getting a little out of date as a list (certainly I should be much lower down now), so I'll be updating it soon - do let me know if there is something you think I should have put in the list... and I'll make sure it's included for next time.

Welcome to Ouch Too Joe,

I had a long day today so will have to have a proper look at your blog links tomorrow  :-)

After a couple of failed attempts it looks like we are going to have a Ouch Too blog soon. It is being built to compliment this message board and let the blogisphere (made up word maybe) our take on things. Maybe it will be in the to 60 this time next year.

I'll be back.....

ps Joe I just had another look at the the top 60 blog list and noticed the use of Alexa rank. I am not familar with how that works but used Google and got a result for www.OuchToo.org http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/ouchtoo.org

The global rank is 6,455,024

I know blogs are different to message boards but just for fun if we were added to the list would we come 8th?

Okay I have had a proper look at you blog now.

The presentation video on this link http://joereddington.com/3856/2014/06/30/telepresenting-the-only-way-to-fly./ good  >thumbsup<
You might like to start a thread in Talk about 'Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) put it in layman's terms and get some grassroots comments.

I added a screenshot of one of the tables that came up  >attachment<, what you said about the iPad and tablets was particularily interesting especially the bit about self funding rather than waiting.

The Blog list is informative and interesting. I see a number of blogs listed that I have heard of and visited, some I like and some I found irksome.
One question I have been unable to answer is why dont more bloggers support the Ouch Too message board by coming over and participating in discussions or by simply adding a link to the blog. Maybe it is all down to people not knowing my real name  >biggrin<.

Good to see you here Joe.

Awesome - thank you for the great welcome...

Welcome to Ouch Too Joe,

 blogisphere (made up word maybe)

Definitely a real word :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blogosphere

I'm afraid it's a little difficult to compare - because they are such different animals... I'm actually surprised that the OuchToo rank isn't considerably higher actually considering the amount of posts on the boards - maybe the visitors are just disproportionately active...

Being entirely honest - I simply never knew the forum existed until a day or so ago when it turned up at Sarah Ismail's blog... Sorry...

Joe,

No need to be sorry, I was just having a bit of a moan  >dove<

About six months into OuchToo.org's existence we had a discussion about whether or not to advertise and get the word out. We decided to leave it for the time being and just see how things went. I think people find us most often via Google searches.

Well this is embarassing I just checked the numbers I was looking at and posted last night.

 >blush< I need to put a note on my computer saying 'Don't attempt to use numbers after 11pm'.

Had it been 6,000,000 and 600,000 I might have noticed the mistake  >doh<

No problem - I think that it's probably worth promoting the site - you've got a very active community here and that's lovely to see... :)

Thank you Joe :-)

I agree about promoting the site we just have to be careful about the amount we do.
