petition for sanctions enquiry
« on: July 30, 2014, 11:26:52 AM »
This petition is on change.org
https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/david-cameron-hold-an-inquiry-into-benefit-sanctions-that-killed-my-brother#share

It's a pity that the petitioner felt she had to emphasise that her brother "wasn't a scrounger", but it's clear that is a necessary argument as things are currently because so many people have taken in the political rhetoric as if it were truth. >erm<
Very few journalists (and fewer editors) seem willing to challenge the line (+lie) that significant savings can be made from DWP spending by "rooting out cheats", so the argument can only be won by showing that many people affected by these "reforms" are certainly not cheats, but are being punished all the same. :-(
