I have yet to meet a ginger tom cat who is not friendly. That being said Milo screams and wails at the big fluffy black and white cat that keeps coming in his cat flap and eating his food. At first I thought the cat was a proper stray and did give it some food outside on the kitchen roof, but then I saw it in next doors garden bullying Milo and now I have to resist the urge to 'save' the cat I was calling Boris. Boris is still fluffy and clean so I reckon he has at least one home.

I used to have a kitten that, I later found, out was having three breakfasts!!  No wonder he grew up to be huge.

I haven't been around for a while as Harvey became more and more ill.  We finally decided that the best thing for him was to have him put to sleep.

So now I'm missing my big bad boy basset more than I imagined.  We're all trying to get used to not having him around and it all seems quiet without him.

I am sorry to hear about Harvey. He sounded like a real character.

Thank you all for the hugs.  It's been a difficult time and was a horrible decision to have to make.  When I feel up to it, I'll post some pictures of him being naughty.

I hope everyone else and their pets are OK at the moment.  Cuddles and strokes all round.

Ditch Dwellers, so sorry to hear your news.

I looked at this thread to post this picture of Luca the kitten. He was very interested in my cake and sat for ages on the coffee  table watching me. It's rare for him to sit still for long enough to get a clear picture.

dd, I think it is the hardest decision ever to make. When the time came for Chivvy, I felt such a traitor (and, even 1 year later, my eyes are leaking as I write about it). But it really is the final thing we can do for our faithful companions, to end their suffering and make sure the end comes when they are safe with us.

Luca cat is gawjus!

Rachel, I've been wondering where you were and I'm so sad to hear your news - hopefully you are having lots of cuddles with your other basset (I am right, that you had two?)

He was very interested in my cake and sat for ages on the coffee  table watching me.

I had a cat who tucked into a piece of Christmas cake I had just started - I'd only gone out to the kitchen to put the kettle on and couldn't believe it when I returned and saw her chomping away  >yikes<

Ha! I've lost my dinner a few times, cooked and uncooked, by going out of the room for half a minute.  Greedy-guts.

My mum's chocolate lab is dreadful for stealing food and other items.  She cant even turn her back when making a sandwhich because Lola will have stolen the bread!
