Appeal changes?
« on: February 25, 2013, 02:36:25 PM »
Does anyone have any more information o the new appeals system? It has been suggested to me that the new system means that if you appeal an ESA decision you will no longer receive the 'assessment rate' whilst the appeal is waiting to be decided.

is that true??

The changes have not yet been brought in but are expected in April. The ESA claimant who is found 'fit for work' will have to ask for a reconsideration before an appeal can be submitted. No ESA will be paid until the reconsideration has been decided and DWP would not give any assurances regarding how long that process might take.
