Is this a good cast for the Christmas Play?
« on: December 21, 2013, 10:20:19 PM »
Ebeneezer ScroogeDavid CameronBob CratchettNick CleggGhost of Joan MarleyMargaret ThatcherGhost of Christmas PastDame Anne BeggGhost of Christmas PresentDame Tanni Grey ThompsonGhost of Christmas FutureIain Duncan SmithTwo Gentlemen collecting for Charitythe Managing Directors of Shelter and the Trussell TrustTiny TimA six year old CP Sufferer

Unfortunately due to austerity cuts, Mr Iain Duncan Smith's costume will be made of Sack cloth and his make-up will be achieved by skinning him alive!

Any other suggestions for other parts gratefully received!

Perhaps Esther McVey should play Mrs. Cratchett?

Unfortunately I don't think Nick Clegg should be in the cast as Dickens did not write in the character of a sycophantic ass kisser.

And IDS is more suited to play the turkey or was it a goose either way they would need stuffing.

I put Nick Clegg in as Bob Cratchett, cos everyone forgets he was in the story!

I also have reservations about Clegg being cast at Bob Cratchit, but only because he's too sympathetic a character to be portrayed by any member of the current government.

Cratchit was originally intended by Dickens to symbolise poor working conditions and poverty pay, so maybe an Amazon employee might be a good substitute cast member?

Clegg should be included somewhere, so perhaps he could play the turkey. After all, by joining the coalition, he did more or less 'vote for Christmas' as it were.

Otherwise, it's looking pretty good, although we do need to get McVey and Lord Fraud in there as well.  >thumbsup<
