Title: Happy New Year Everyone
Post by: Sunshine Meadows on 01 Jan 2019 12:29AM
Happy New Year everyone, wishing you all the best for 2019 and if that is not possible I wish you the following,

1. The magical ability to be able to get a doctors appointment whenever you need one and with a GP of your choosing.
2. Good days when you can dance in the rain and not catch a cold or be so tired you have to spend days in bed.
3. That anyone having an ESA or PIP assessment gets any help they need filling in the forms and is given the support they need in dealing with what has become a stressful process.

I am hoping people are going to be able to add to the list or maybe agree with ones already mentioned.

Night night  >bighugs<

Happy New Year everyone. I'm lucky Sunshine in that I can at least manage the first of your alternatives :-)

I think from a distance, or as I prefer out of sight out of mind is appropriate:-

Lankou,

That is an interesting song choice and good to have the lyrics showing in text as the song is sung.

I am reminded of Emily Dickinson's poem Hope here is a signed version click here (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/video/77372/hope-is-the-thing-with-feathers)

“Hope”
BY EMILY DICKINSON (https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poets/emily-dickinson)

“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.

When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land.

Belated wishes from me too. We’ve both been ill since arriving home. A virus causing chest infection, and, general illness.  We’ve both had flu injections. So, it’s not that.  Therefore, the healthier 2019 that kizzy wished for, would be good.  Happy new year to all on here from me  >bighugs<

JLR2 thanks.  Unfortunately, I'm still battling the virus.  You can't get any appointments with our GPS at our surgery.  They closed the over popular walk in centre at a near by surgery that we used for emergencies,  just before Christmas.  Now we have to go to the one at the local hospital.  Once in there, you can wait up to three hours to be seen. If you don't have a car you're up the creek.  I hate the situation we are in at the moment. As it is, you can't get antibiotics for various health issues unless you see a GP etc.  There's no hope of changing our health practice. The three in our area are considering a merger.  That won't work, as one of them is on special measures. I've now developed a UTI as well as the chest infection  I finally got the antibiotics I need yesterday, after a two week wait.  Hopefully, I'll be on the mend soon.

Ally, that's appalling - sounds like one worth writing to your local MP about.  What is happening to this country??

UTIs are pretty miserable - on top of everything else as well - so >x-fingers<  for you feeling better soon (get it over with at the beginning of the year and maybe the rest of 2019 will be more pleasant...)
