no, that does not sound silly at all.  Pets are part of the family.  When the current dog tears up the sofa I have to remember that it is her sofa too!

You are  all right :-) Luka had a good life, it would have been nice if Mr Sunshine's broken knee had not stopped our long walks but all the same Luka got played with never went hungry etc. For such a long time it was Luka and Megs, and now they are both gone. The house is so quiet without a barking collie or collie husky cross in it. My life in Derbyshire has been so full compared to where I was before so many good memories with the dogs, cats and Mr Sunshine. Luka more than any of our pets could help Mr Sunshine get through dark Bipolar days the sad, bad and mad times. He gave us time to learn and grown to manage without him. Hmm that sounds a bit silly but pets whatever size or speed can make such a difference.

I had to take my first doggie to the vets a few years ago.  Took me a year to not have tears when I thought of her.  Poor you!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that  :-(  At least he had a good crack at a long happy life, making it to 14, but still a sad thing for you - cry as much as you need  >bighugs<

Luka our collie husky cross died last night. There has been and will be lots of tears because he was such a fantastic dog. We got him the same year we moved to Derbyshire and he was 14 years old. I don't want people to be upset or feel like they have to post, please do as you wish  >hugs<

Mr Sunshine and I will be okay it will just take time.

Yep I did one of the scariest things I had to do as A Kid. >yikes<.  The only thing that scared me more was getting on a Bus to travel the 12 miles to Hereford and getting off at the right place and walking through town to my new School. Aged 7 and all by myself. Still have cold sweats remembering.
