I can't suggest anything for your various ailments, Minniehaha, except to note that anyone capable of writing such elegant, properly spelt and punctuated English, must have most of their brain cells intact.

Why, thank you very much, kind sir!  It was a long, hard road getting my brain back in gear after my last breakdown and I still have lots of problems with my concentration but I do try.  :-)

Which might be best kept to yourself, as our detractors would probably see it as a sign that you're 'not really disabled'.

My husband would agree with that!  At my last WCA, just before I went in, he whispered in my ear, 'Tell them you're a teapot.'

Boy, was I  tempted.

Minniehaha x
A teapot.

What a jackass!  Not you, Ricardomeister - Leo McKinstrey!

No fewer than 77,000 drug addicts and alcoholics receive Disability Living Allowance because of their self-inflicted conditions, while claims for incapacity benefit are dominated, not by the physically disabled, but by those with mental health problems like depression, stress and behavioural disorders.

It would appear that not only is he trivialising mental health problems like depression, stress and behavioural disorders but is also implying that they're self-inflicted!

(post part-quoted)

There are still some die-hards out there who don't consider mental health issues a 'real' disability, sadly.

I've met this sort of journalist before. They always see themselves as brave enough to write what they reckon people are really thinking. 'The writer you can't ignore' sort of stuff.

They are always - without exeption - utter pricks with less than clean-cut lives themselves.

I think to call him a journalist is an exaggeration.  His 'newspaper' is a free ad paper which he owns and edits and uses as his personal mouthpiece.

I find it hard to follow a speaker who is talking to me.
My mind drifts.
He has often told me off for not listening to him properly.
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all,

I skimmed through the You Tube link and at 10.04 he says ' Just waiting for my date to turn up so erm extra cardio for Toby tonight.'

Omg arf arf he is like a Harry Enfield creation what a Dick.

Lankou,

From the first link you just gave,

Quote
He said he would be “very careful not to repeat” his comment about people with Motability cars having to “hang their heads in shame”, which he said was “a mistake” that he would correct in the next edition of his newspaper.

Do you know if he has apologised?
