The Tory MP's in the debate were saying that they don't want to see another Winterbourne House, which we agree with. However, they make out that they care, but all they want to do is get the care home residents to live independently with support from family or other carers. Why, so that they can go for a WCA and be found fit for work and be a contributing member of society. To provide slave labour so that the private sector can rake in even more money though exploitation of disabled and vulnerable people.
Usually residential care is the last option for respite, after all else has failed. How can they possibly lead a 'normal' independent life.
Labour would quite possibly have changed things by now; after so many saying that these measures don't work!
The only lessons this government learns is how to make things more difficult for everyone. Trying to make a complaint against any Government department Is a complete ordeal in itself, and the line managers always have their staffs backs!
The MP's kept saying today that disabled people are vulnerable, but they are the ones that are taking advantage of them/us. I think that they don't know what the word vulnerable means.
Even the disabled MP's, now that they are part of the 'elite' have turned their backs on disabled people, just because they are able to work they think everyone can!
Right....finished my rant!!!
