So I thought I would start a light-hearted post

What are you listening to at the time of posting??

It could be anything

for example, The Washing Machine on a Fast Spin

I am listening to "the next door neighbours drill, i have new neighbours, and they havn't stopped drilling since they moved in in December...!

The television. Real Madrid v Man U. 0-0 so far. Going to flick channels though. There's a thing about a Scottish serial killer on Channel 5.

Jockice, you know, or have interviewed, so many people, you must have met the guy! 

I am watching tv.  A recording of 'Rising Damp', which I love.

Don't think I've ever interviewed a serial killer. One of the best stories I ever did though was about Jeffrey Dahmer, the American one who killed 17 other males. Apparently his favourite band was a very obsure one from Sheffield called Clock DVA. He was listening to them when he got arrested. Can't remember how I found that out but it ended up in the national papers.

Clock DVA had moments of brilliance though. I think Four Hours by them is the greatest single ever released by an act from Sheffield. And that includes the likes of ABC, Pulp, The Human League, Arctic Monkeys, Def Leppard, Joe Cocker etc.

At the moment I have a thing I recorded on Channel 4 last night on. A sort of supersize v superskinny thing except that it's superclean v supermessy. I support the latter but at no stage in my life - despite what a few people have said - has my state of disorder been within a million miles of the people on programmes like this.

The supermessy were extremely superdirty and lived in verwhelming supersqualor.  I wonder how long it will be before they get into such a mess again.  It would be good to have a follow-up in twelve months time.

I'm having to listen to construction traffic at the moment.  The marina where I live is rebuilding the boatyard, along with new boat shed, associated workshops, a cafe and chandlery.  It is a huge project and is taking place right opposite my mooring, so I have to put up with heavy construction work until after Easter.  I'm hoping it will get a bit better once the main structures are up, and all the footings and pilings are complete.  The work starts at 7am and finishes at 4pm each day and it is driving me potty.

There's a bit of hammering going on in flat six. Someone bought it recently and is getting it totally refurbished before moving in. There are also a few cars pulling up on the road outside. There's a school opposite and it's nearly hometime. And the cat is lapping up the remains of my macaroni cheese. Apart from that, silence.

It was the supertidy I was worried about. 18 hours a day cleaning can't be healthy. I feel for their families. I've visited the homes of a couple of people like that and I was scared to breathe too hard.

I am listening to a complication cd called Loaded its indie music from the 1990s and I am really enjoying it. I lent my brother my car over 10 years ago and it came back minus the cassette tapes, with lots of extra mileage and little petrol in the tank. Oh anyway I am chuffed to have finally been able to buy a replacement copy of Loaded.
