A flood knocked out the power and damaged the emergency generators at the Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

The absence of power had put paid to the air conditioning and the entire hospital was becoming something  of a hothouse.

With confusion reigning all around, a young psychiatric patient took charge, passing himself off as a medical official.

He sent a team of highly-trained staff on a search for ice, which lasted all through the night.
A hospital spokesperson admitted later: 'We finished up with 2,000lb of dry ice in the lobby.'
She added that no-one had thought for a moment to question the authenticity of the young fellow at the helm because 'Well, he seemed to be doing such a good job'.     >snowman<

'Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don't look at it and wish you had painted something different.'
People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost.

One of my favourites:

A middle-aged woman on the train to Winchester had been trying for some time to quieten her small dog which was yapping and snarling at an elderly man opposite.

'Boysie usually has such a sweet nature,' she sighed. 'I just don't know what to make of him.'

The man peered over his glasses at the animal, 'Well,' he suggested, 'how about a nice rug?'

The women of Ancient Greece used to count their ages from the day they were married rather than the day they were born.
It was considered that life only began for woman after they were married.
