State Pension changes

  • on: 19 Nov 2015 08:03PM
Evening all.

Hope all is well..... >thumbsup<

I am currently on pension credit and have been on this for a few years now. we claim as a couple. I will turn 65 in sept 2016 and partner will turn 60 early 2016.

I have been told that I will be eligible for the new state pension once I am 65.

so I am confused about what will happen as me and my partner claim pension credit as a couple?
What changes will take place regarding our benefits etc....

Please can you guys share some information on this matter please???

Much appreciated

Hi I would suggest asking the pension service for a pension forecast. I think the n state pension is the amount that a single pensioner gets I.e 141 a week, don't celebrate yet, you might have previously been entitled to a state pension of 168 a week and you won't get the extra money you would have been due.
I will need to check the figures but I think that's the new reality  :-(

Thank you.

I have been advised that I would get roughly 151 a week, but my concern is my partner
Can you claim as a couple on the new state pension? She will be 60 early 2016????

Thank you

Mohhhh 😔
